Government Compensation For Asbestos Government compensation may be available for individuals diagnosed with asbestosis, mesothelioma or lung cancer. The VA and certain insurance companies offer these benefits. The new DMPS will pay people with diffuse mesothelioma and their dependants (where they have died). It is funded through an insurance levy.
